All our enamel products are dishwasher safe.

2. What are your cutting boards and trays made of?

Our trays and cutting boards are produced locally in Finland at our own factory. All wooden products are made of veneer with a coating that means that all wooden products can be machine washed without damage.

3. Where do your wooden figures come from?

We produce our wooden figures in Vietnam where they are handmade by a dedicated and highly skilled staff. A batch takes up to 3 months to produce, therefore sold out items may occur over time. The figures are treated with a topcoat so they can withstand fingers even if they are greasy or wet. Simply wipe the figure with a damp cloth.

All wooden figures are produced from FSC-certified wood, our manufacturer is FSC-certified.

4. What is enamel?

Enamel is a glass powder that is melted at high heat (typically 750–850 °C) onto metal – often steel, iron, copper or aluminium. When it cools, it forms a hard, smooth and shiny surface that both protects the metal and gives it a decorative look.

Historic:
Enamel dates back to ancient Egypt (around 1500 BC), where it was used for jewelry and decoration.

During the Middle Ages, the technique was refined in Europe – especially in France and Germany – for religious objects and art.

In the 19th century, enamel began to be used industrially, especially for kitchen and household items such as mugs, bowls and pots.

Today, enamel is used in design, applied arts and architecture – loved for its durability, hygiene and classic aesthetics .

In short: enamel combines function and beauty – a timeless technique that is still used in modern Nordic design.

5. Where can enamel products be used?

Enamel products can be used for both everyday use and decoration because they are durable, heat-resistant and easy to clean.

Typical applications:
Kitchen & serving: Mugs, bowls, plates, dishes – perfect for both hot and cold dishes.

Outdoor use: Ideal for picnics, camping and gardening, as enamel withstands impacts and temperature fluctuations.

Decor: Use enamel products as vases, storage jars or decorative elements – their glossy surface and colors give a nostalgic, Nordic look.

Bathroom: Enamel jars, cups or bowls work well for storage, as the material does not absorb moisture.

In short: enamel fits everywhere where you want functional design with classic aesthetics and long durability.
